The Barcelona ace did not waste any time to give the Dutch side a one-nil lead just when the USMNT seemed ready to go ahead in the tie.

The USMNT seemed ready to take the lead in their Round of 16 game against the Netherlands, and even had a big chance via Christian Pulisic...but along came Memphis Depay to spoil their party.

The Dutch footballer capped an incredible counter-attack to score the opening goal for Louis Van Gaal's side and gave them some working space for this game. But if that was not enough, Depay also used that goal to earn a piece of history when it comes to playing for the Dutch national team.

The striker became the second best top scorer in the team's history with that goal, surpassing some Dutch legends in his path and only leaving Robin Van Persie to be beaten.
