The Rossoneri are apparently closely monitoring the situation of the Manchester City star, who hasn't lived up to the expectations many had expected when he arrived in 2021.

While much of the focus is naturally on the goings on during this year's World Cup, the fact remains that the winter transfer window is set to open in just a few weeks' time.

As such, many clubs have already started making plans on how to boost their squads ahead of the second half of their respective campaigns.

One player that could be on the move is Manchester City's Jack Grealish. The former West Ham man signed with the Cityzens for a record-setting $122 million (£100 million/€116 million) back in 2021, making him the most-expensive English player ever signed. However, it appears that the burden of such a huge price tag has weighed heavily on the attacker's shoulders, as he has struggled to secure regular first team football in Pep Guardiola's star-studded squad.

Hence, there are reports, mainly from Italy, that he could be on the move. Grealish is apparently priced at approximately $73.6 million (£60.3 million/€70 million) and Italian reports claim that Manchester City could be open to a sale in order to fund the purchase of Rafael Leao. The Portuguese international has been in brilliant form for Stefano Pioli's side, who won their first Scudetto since 2011 last season, and has been also a solid performer for Portugal so far at this year's World Cup.

While it may not be likely that City will make a move for Leao this winter, Milan are nonetheless closely monitoring Grealish's situation as they have apparently earmarked him as an option to replace Leao should he, as many expect, decide to depart the Stadio San Siro sometime in 2023.

Grealish and Leao's respective national sides, England and Portugal, will be involved in quarter-finals action as they face France and Morocco this weekend.
