Les Bleus might be forced to line up against the Albiceleste without their main striker.

Defending champions France have been handed a blow ahead of Sunday's clash with Argentina. A report from Les Blues' camp claims that Olivier Giroud is a doubt for the upcoming match-up after picking up a knock to his knee less than 24 hours to kick-off.

On Friday, it was reported that several key players of the French team had caught a flu that was making rounds in their camp and, as a result, risked missing the final. However, the fears of fans were calmed after all 24 players reported for the final training session held on Saturday.

During the session, Kylian Mbappe was surprisingly deployed up to as the main striker with Marcum Thuram also getting a run-in by occupying the PSG man's preferred position on the left wing. According to L'Equipe, Didier Deschamps and his technical team opted for this front line because of an injury to Olivier Giroud.

The severity of the AC Milan star's injury remains unclear but there is a serious doubt about his availability for the game. The former Arsenal and Chelsea star has been an instrumental figure in the French side in Qatar, scoring four goals in five appearances.
