Los Blancos will lock horns with Los Che in Saudi Arabia this Wednesday but will have to make do without two key players.

After suffering that unfortunate slip-up away to Villarreal in La Liga over the weekend, Real Madrid will look to bounce back on Wednesday in the Spanish Super Cup. Unfortunately, the reigning champions have been rocked by two major setbacks before even taking to the pitch.

Ancelotti's men were beaten 2-1 by the Yellow Submarine, their second defeat of the campaign, and have thus fallen three points behind league leaders Barcelona. And to make things worse, Los Blancos will be without two key players for their upcoming showdown with Los Che.

The first name on this list is Aurelien Tchouameni, the highly-rated Frenchman who has impressed in the void left by Casemiro. The midfielder started in Saturday's defeat, coming off in the 64th minute, with his Spanish employers sending him for a scan after succumbing to injury.

The Merengues have since announced that the former Monaco sensation has suffered an injury to his left soleus and has thus been omitted from Real Madrid's Spanish Super Cup squad.

And it doesn't stop there. David Alaba, who has been a key member of Ancelotti's backline since joining from Bayern Munich, completed the full 90 minutes but has since suffered a fitness issue of his own.

The Austrian star suffered a knock to his injury to the right soleus, as revealed by the club in an official statement, and has also been left out of Real Madrid's Spanish Super Cup showdown with Valencia in Saudi Arabia as well.

"Following tests carried out today on Aurélien Tchouameni by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the left soleus. His recovery will be monitored," Real Madrid announced.

"Following tests carried out today on David Alaba by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the right soleus. His recovery will be monitored," the Spanish giants revealed in a separate statement.

However, it wasn't all doom and gloom for Ancelotti's men. Dani Carvajal , who sat out the 2-1 loss to Villarreal due to a muscle overload, has returned, meaning either he or Nacho could deputize at center-back if need be. Check out Los Merengues' squad in full below.
