The black-and-white side are now ten points behind Napoli in the race to win the Scudetto, but the team's form has been far from satisfying all season long, which has seen fans and experts demanding one more managerial change as soon as possible. The team may keep Massimiliano Allegri until the end of the campaign, but the race to replace him has already started with two men in prime position to take the job.
In a poll conducted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, two names emerged as the top choices to replace Allegri. The first one was Zinedine Zidane, who's return to Juventus has been suggested quite a few times. The other name is that of Antonio Conte, the man behind Tottenham and who is yet to sign a contract extension with the English side.
The poll showed massive support for Zidane, who was elected to become Juve's boss by 41.5% of the voters, while Conte was chosen by 38% of those who cast their vote. Allegri was only backed by 16.3% of the fans, which shows how unhappy the team's supporters are with the current boss.
The results of this poll have somewhat confirmed Alessandro Del Piero's words regarding Allegri's future. The legendary player admitted that keeping Allegri around would not be as bad as some think, but this season's results must motivate a thorough analysis of his job and how capable he is to turn things around.
"Allegri's future? There are other things to think about right now. Allegri is not the problem, because the team bounced back and they are only behind a Napoli team that is playing in another league. Even so, I think that when the end of the season comes, we need to evaluate Allegri's work," Del Piero stated.
Juventus were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League back in 2022, which will force them to play in the UEFA Europa League for the first time in decades. Meanwhile, their shaky form in the Italian top-flight has seen them rise from ninth to third in the competition, but their recent loss to Napoli has set off the alarms once again, and even with their complicated financial situation, the team's board could make an effort to try and turn things around.
