A lonely goal by Ousmané Dembelé paved the way for Los Culés in the cup tournament, but things could have been different if the Txuri-urdin had scored this open goal chance.

Barcelona managed to get past Real Sociedad in their Quarterfinal matchup in the 2022-23 Copa del Rey, and while Ousmane Dembelé's goal was quite helpful, the team's luck was in full display during the defining moments of the clash.

Los Culés earned their lead after 52 minutes with a fast-break that ended with a wild shot by Dembelé that goalkeeper Álex Remiro was unable to save. But moments later, Real Sociedad wasted a huge chance to equalizer following a massive miss by Alexander Sørloth.

The Norwegian footballer found himself all alone inside Barça's small box just seven minutes after Dembelé's opener, and when most Real Sociedad fans were about to celebrate their first goal of the evening, Sørloth pulled off one of the biggest misses in the ongoing 2022-23 campaign.

"How on earth did Sørloth miss that!"

This would not be the only big chance thrown away by the Basque side, as Sørloth himself and Robert Navarro wasted a couple more chances for the blue and white, who will now be facing Real Madrid this weekend.
