While some experts criticized Marcel Sabitzer's arrival to Old Trafford, there are some who believe he was the right man to be hired.

The end of the winter transfer window came with good news for Manchester United, as Marcel Sabitzer joined the club to replace Christian Eriksen in midfielder as a last-minute option.

Despite initial criticism on the player, there are some of the team's former legends that are completely on board with Erik Ten Hag's decision, and they have swiftly stepped up to voice their support for the new arrival.

One of those who is rather ecstatic to see Sabitzer as a Red Devil is Rio Ferdinand, who praised the player's experience in big games that could give an edge for the team in crunch ties such as the ones coming up in the second half of the season.

"This guys knows how to play football, he will be a really good signing for Man United. He's an experienced player who has played in big games, Champions League games," Ferdinand stated.

Then, the former defender looked back at the player's recent history and revealed that being on the bench for Bayern was not as bad as it may sound.

"I watched a hell of a lot of this player when he was at RB Leipzig and he was sensational. He was integral to everything they did. Yes he's gone to Bayern and hasn't torn it up there or become a regular, but the players he's behind are big, household names," Ferdinand added.

Sabitzer played 23 games for Bayern München this season across all competitions, scoring once and handing out one assist. While his numbers may not be impressive, his role covering Eriksen will be crucial for the Red Devils' hopes for success in the Premier League, the UEFA Europa League, and the Carabao Cup, where they will face Newcastle in the title clash.
