The veteran striker has been out for quite some time following knee surgery but looks set for a return to the fold imminently.

AC Milan are currently in a funk, with the Rossoneri having failed to win their last four games. That includes a humiliating loss to a Sassuolo side who have won just five matches all season. The defeat, which saw Stefano Pioli's side slump to a shocking 5-2 defeat at the Stadio San Siro certainly brought back bad memories of Milan's disappointing results against the Neroverdi, including their 4-3 defeat thanks to a poker scored by a then 19-year-old Domenico Berardi.

The Rossoneri were also thoroughly beaten 3-0 by cross-town rivals Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana, while Torino dumped them out of the Coppa Italia following a 1-0 loss at the San Siro. Currently a whopping 15 points behind Napoli, it looks increasing unlikely that the Rossoneri will be able to retain their Scudetto title after winning it for the first time since 2011 last season.

However, the Diavolo have been given some good news. According to reports from Italy, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the cusp of a comeback after recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out for over eight months. Given his age, many had expected the 41-year-old to hang up his boots, but the Swedish star was quick to shut down any speculation and instead made it clear that he intended to return to the pitch as soon as possible.

Italian reports indicate that Ibrahimovic was involved in part of a group training session recently. While the upcoming Derby della Madonnina will come too soon for him to face his former team Inter, should all go according to plan, Ibrahimovic could potentially make the bench for Milan's next Serie A games, which will see them face Toronto and newly promoted Monza on February 10th and 18th.
