The Italian boss congratulated the English striker after became Tottenham's all-time top scorer, overtaking Jimmy Greaves.

Sunday was a memorable day for Harry Kane. Not only did the English striker lead his club to a crucial victory over Manchester City in the Premier League, but the Tottenham ace made history by scoring the only goal in the 1-0 triumph.

The Three Lions sensation, who has now scored 267 times for Spurs, became the club's all-time top scorer thanks to that first-half strike past Ederson, overtaking club legend Jimmy Greaves (266 goals).

The 29-year-old equaled the record in the 1-0 victory over Fulham and has now claimed that title for himself in what was a vital triumph over Pep Guardiola's side. As a result, the player was beaming with joy at the final whistle and was even congratulated by his manager in the dressing room.

Antonio Conte, who was absent from this game after undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder, showed his class by immediately congratulating the striker. The conversation was caught on camera and while it was difficult to hear everything the manager said, Conte, who is recovering in Turin, expressed tremendous pride in his talisman.

"You make me proud," the former Juventus boss told Kane. Check out the heartwarming exchange in the clip below (the video is geo-restricted).

Conte also took to Instagram to hail his players as their 1-0 triumph over the reigning Premier League champions has taken them within a point of fourth-placed Newcastle. Spurs, however, have played a game extra but it is a huge boost nonetheless as the North London giants look to secure UEFA Champions League football next season.
