The Serbian international has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Italy, and it just may come to fruition this summer.

Although the winter transfer window closed less than two weeks ago, with the summer transfer market yet to open for another few months, it still has not prevented the rumor mill from continuing to churn.

One player that has been repeatedly linked with a move is Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has been associated with a switch to the Premier League for the past few seasons. However, the Aquile have managed to hang on to the Serbian international - at least, for now.

Yet, with Arsenal looking to further boost their squad as the Gunners look set to be making a return to the Champions League next season, it will be very interesting to see if Lazio are able to keep their star player at the Stadio Olimpico. As per reports from Italy, namely the Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal attempted to sign him last season, only to be thwarted by the capital-based club.

This time around, Milinkovic-Savic is now coming to the end of his contract, with one year left to go at the end of this season. That, as per the report, could force Lazio into a sale rather than to risk losing him on a free transfer in 2024 - which could play perfectly into Arsenal's hands as Mikel Arteta's side seek to bring in some further reinforcements in preparation for the 2023/24 campaign.
