The Gunners were unable to return to winning ways in their pursuit of a new title after a huge loss to Pep Guardiola and Co.

The game between Arsenal and Manchester City seemed to be a big chance for the Gunners to increase their options to win the Premier League title, but it went sideways for Mikel Arteta's men almost from the start.

Arsenal started off to the wrong foot thanks to a howler by Takehiro Tomiyasu, who "assisted" Kevin de Bruyne for the first goal of the evening. Bukayo Saka would level the game before the break, but that was going to be the only glimmer of hope for Arteta's team.

The hosts had quite a few problems to clear the ball out of their back end, and that came as no surprise thanks to Manchester City's pressure. Gabriel Magalhaes even committed a penalty against Erling Haaland, but VAR had mercy on him and ruled against the spot kick due to an offside...but that would not be the last we'd hear by the Brazilian.

Another mistake by Gabriel while passing the ball ended in the back of Arsenal's net, giving Manchester City a lead they wouldn't lose. Jack Grealish with the second goal of the evening and Erling Haaland with one more goal capped a deserved win for the Cityzens even if they only had 34% of the game's possession, an all-time low for a team coached by Pep Guardiola.

This is where it gets worse for Arsenal, as they are now level on points with Manchester City, and with one more game against them, their current run does not seem to favor the Gunners' chances of success this season, since it's been quite a while since their last win against the team led by Pep Guardiola.
