The two-legged Liga MX Femenil final between Tigres and Chivas will take place on Monday, May 24, at 10 p.m. ET. Fans in the USA can catch coverage of the game on Universo.

Three-time champions Tigres will visit Estadio Omnilife on Monday, where they will face Chivas. Tigres, who won the 2020 Apertura title, are looking to become the first team in league history to win both the opening and closing parts of the Liga MX Femenil season.

On the other hand, Chivas arrive at a final for the first time in four years. The Guadalajara-based club will look to win its first piece of silverware since their victory over Pachuca in the 2017 Apertura championship.

Chivas vs. Tigres UANL: Road to Liga MX Femenil final

Tigres UANL came out on top of the regular season table with 40 points after 12 wins, one loss, four draws and a goal differential of 27. In return, Tigres faced eight-seeded Club America in the Liguilla quarterfinals.

A 4-0 away win and a 2-0 home victory against America saw Tigres comfortably advance to the semis against Monterrey. Moreover, the replay of the Apertura 2020 final saw Tigres take down Las Rayadas 4-1 in the second leg after a two-all draw in the first leg.

Chivas finished second place in the regular-season table with 36 points after 11 wins, three losses, three draws and a goal differential of 25. Like Tigres, Guadalajara also lived an easy quarterfinal tie where they defeated Toluca by a global score of 4-0. However, the semifinal tie against Atlas was tight as Chivas won 2-1 in the second leg after a goalless first leg.

Chivas vs. Tigres UANL: Players to watch

Alicia Cervantes – Chivas Guadalajara

Forward Alicia Cervantes has enjoyed her short time at Guadalajara after joining from Monterrey before the 2020-21 season. The 27-year-old sits second in the goalscoring charts with 17 goals in 15 appearances. The Jalisco native scored a game-winner in the second leg game against Atlas to take Chivas to the final. Having won Apertura 2019, Cervantes knows what she and her team need to do to win this time around.

Stephany Mayor – Tigres UANL

Like Cervantes, forward Stephany Mayor has been Tigres’ main goalscorer in the second half of the season. The 29-year-old finished fifth in scoring with 10 goals in 17 games. The Mexican international scored two goals in her last meeting against Chivas and will look to do so again on Monday to give her team a nice cushion before the grand finale on Monday, May 31.
