The Gunners are keen on adding another reliable striker to their roster, and judging by the nerazzurri ace's words, he would be keen on joining the EPL leaders.

If Mikel Arteta can read between the lines, then he has been give the "OK" to try and lure a FIFA World Cup champion to Arsenal this summer.

The Spanish boss has never hidden his interest in signing one more striker for his club, especially after Gabriel Jesús' injury. Now, despite the Brazilian's recovery close to having him back on the pitch, the current EPL leaders could end up boosting their attack with none other than Lautaro Martínez.

The footballer, who won the 2022 World Cup title with Argentina, has been linked with a move to the Premier League for quite some time now, and the footballer's disappointment over Inter's most recent loss must be taken as a sign of things to come in his career.

The Argentine striker was left quite disappointed following the nerazzurri's defeat against Bologna, and his words on that issue left a window of opportunity to be considered as a sign of his desire to leave the Italian side for a bigger challenge.

"It would be wrong to talk too much in the heat of the moment, but the sensation I have right now is that we'll get nowhere playing like this. We are 18 points behind Napoli, so clearly something is not working," Martínez told Sky Sport Italia right after the game.

Martínez's deal with Inter expires in 2026, but the nerazzurri's ailing finances could prompt them to part ways with some of their key players, and that list includes Martínez. The Argentine ace could be swooped by a proper offer from a Premier League club, and with Arsenal interested in his services before they signed Gabriel Jesús, the option to have him around would not be as far fetched as some might believe.

Martínez has scored 15 goals across all competitions for Inter this season, and with a consistent haul over the years in his days with the black and blue side, it would not be a surprise to see him joining the Gunners in a high-profile deal next summer.
