The Giallorossi are reportedly seeking to make some changes up front, and have been linked with possibly making a swap for one of Inter's strikers.

While the summer transfer window is a few months away, that certainly has not prevented the rumor mill from churning actively. Over in Italy, ambitious club Roma have been linked with an interesting move for Romelu Lukaku as the Giallorossi seek to boost their attack ahead of next season.

As per reports from Italy, namely Calciomercato.com, the relationship between Tammy Abraham and Roma appears to have broken down. It is a surprising turn of events, especially considering the brilliant start the English international enjoyed during the 2021/22 season, where he scored 27 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions and became the first English player in 30 years to score at least ten times in Serie A.

However, this season, things have not gone as swimmingly for the player, who has struggled for form and consistency and has scored just seven goals so far for Jose Mourinho's side. Abraham was purchased for approximately $41.5 million from Chelsea, who also included a $83 million buy-back option once the player had completed two seasons at the Stadio Olimpico. The Calciomercato.com report claims that the Italian side are looking to offload Abraham for an estimated $43 to $48 million, and have linked Aston Villa with a potential interest in his services.

Should they manage to sell Abraham, Roma will need to find a replacement, and the same report notes that Romelu Lukaku is currently in a quandary. The Belgian international has bounced back and forth between Chelsea and Inter over the past few seasons, but with the Blues set to offload quite a few players as they aim to balance the books, Lukaku's future at Stamford Bridge is pretty much over.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are apparently not impressed with Lukaku's second spell at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, and will be eager to move him on as soon as this season concludes. Thus, Inter could be amenable to a potential swap deal, during which Abraham will get another chance to try his luck in Serie A, while Lukaku would be moved onto the Eternal City - provided they can figure out how to deal with his high wage packet.
