The French superstar has made up his mind when it comes about his future, but there is still a long way to go if this deal is set to materialize.

It seems that Kylian Mbappé will finally try to join Real Madrid after last year's fiasco, but there will be some major differences between what happened then and what will happen this time around.

According to reports by As and L'Equipe, the French superstar has reached out to Los Blancos' hierarchy seeking a meeting with their representatives to discuss a plan to have him at the Bernabeu. While Real Madrid would be interested in signing the player, there are certain conditions sources close to the meeting revealed.

The first one of those has to do with the transfer amount Real Madrid is willing to pay, which goes all the way to...nothing. The only way for Mbappé to be signed by Los Blancos is if he can find a way to join them on a free transfer, which was the way he would have joined them last year. The Spanish side is not willing to go into a tug of war with their French counterparts, and Mbappé's current deal offers him a chance to get to Spain as a free agent, which will be the main option for the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners.

The report by the French media outlet states that Mbappé's contract included a clause where he would be forced to stay at PSG until the summer of 2025 if they were able to win the 2023 UEFA CL title. Unfortunately for their cause, the French team was eliminated by Bayern in the Round of 16, which has sparked rumours about the possible departures of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos or Mbappé himself.

The only issue left to discuss would be the player's wages, which would remain the same as if he had joined Real Madrid last summer. In fact, the report adds that Mbappé could even lower his wage demands to join Real Madrid for good.
