The Nigerian star was absent during Napoli's recent 4-0 loss to Milan, and the Partenopei are hoping that he can recovery quickly in time for their UCL game.

Sunday saw league leaders Napoli suffer their worst Serie A defeat so far this season, as the Partenopei were thrashed 4-0 by AC Milan at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The loss hasn't impacted Napoli's standings, as the Partenopei are still very much in control of the title race as they hope to win their first Scudetto in over 30 years. However, Luciano Spalletti's side still have some major concerns, namely the fitness of Capocannoniere front-runner and star striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international, who has scored 25 goals for Napoli in 29 appearances across all comps, including 21 in Serie A, sustained a muscular injury while featuring for the Super Eagles during the latest international hiatus. As such, the 24-year-old was unable to take part in Sunday's game, and while he is currently undergoing treatment by his club, reports have indicated that Osimhen will also miss Napoli's next Serie A match, which sees them face Lecce on Friday.

Spalletti will certainly hope that keeping Osimhen out of that game will boost his chances of somehow making a comeback for Napoli's quarter-finals match against Milan on April 12th. Given that it's just over a week away, it's set to be a very anxious time as the player, the club, and Napoli fans all hope for some kind of amazing turnaround so that he can be involved in what will certainly be a very interesting all-Italian European tie.
