The most recent hint on where the Argentine legend will be playing next season was dropped by none other than Robert Lewandowski, who offered a glimmer of hope for Barcelona fans by sharing his desire to call Messi one of his teammates in coming months.
"I've always said that, to me, Messi is still part of Barcelona, and if he came back, it would not only be great for our fans, but also for us,"Lewandowski stated on the impact Messi's return would have.
The former Bayern striker went on to add how Messi will always be welcome at Camp Nou, stating that having him around would be like a dream come true.
"This is his house and we need players such as Messi. So, I hope I'm able to play alongside him next season," Lewandowski added.
Speaking about the team's recent form and their chances to win La Liga, Lewandowski admitted that the team is fully focused on winning another league title, which could give them a massive boost in confidence for years to come.
"You can't change everything in a few months. New players arrived, and we have had many injuries in key moments, which has made up for our season not being perfect, but you have to be patient, next season will be better. The team has not won the league title in three years, and winning it this year would be great, not only for our young players, but also for the confidence this project needs," Lewandowski stated.
