The Blaugrana will be hoping to rebound after a poor result last time out when they travel to face Getafe on Sunday.

After an insipid scoreless draw against Girona last time out, Barcelona will be looking to rebound when they travel to face Getafe on Sunday. The Blaugrana were surprisingly poor in attack, with new signing and Pichichi candidate Robert Lewandowski receiving plenty of criticism from fans and pundits alike, and the Polish international will naturally seek to find his shooting boots once again this weekend.

Hosts Getafe come into this contest having lost 2-0 to Real Sociedad last weekend. Quique Sanchez Flores's men currently sit in 16th spot, but with just three points separating them from relegation-threatened Valencia, the Azulones are not out of the danger zone. While they have won their last three games in La Liga, and could win four on the spin for the first time since February 2022, their record against Barcelona is quite poor, to say the least.

Indeed, Getafe have won just three of their last 35 La Liga meetings against the Blaugrana, with losses in 25 games during that period. They will be welcoming a side who, despite their stumble against Girona, have been in excellent form this term, with 12 wins from their last 14 away La Liga ties. Prior to their surprise draw with Girona, Xavi's troops had won 11 of their last 12 league games, but it is interesting to note that Barcelona have both failed to score and win in their last two trips to Getafe's home ground.

In addition, the Catalan powerhouse have had their fair share of concerns when visiting teams based in Madrid. Of their last 10 trips to the Spanish capital, Barcelona have lost in seven of those - a stat that may raise some eyebrows considering that they had lost just one of their 21 ties prior to this (W17 D3).

As such, it will be interesting to see if the visitors, who hold a ten point advantage over second-placed Real Madrid, will be able to overcome this issue on Sunday. Or will the hosts, facing a desperate battle to avoid the drop, be able to recover from a difficult loss last weekend to nick a point - or possibly more - against a Spanish giant?

Barcelona: Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen, and youngster Pedri are all still out for the visitors. Ousmane Dembele continues to remain on the sidelines due to his ongoing injury issues.
