The team's complicated financial situation would force them to part ways with one of their most influential footballers this season.

Apparently, things at Barcelona will not change in terms of their financial issues, which means they could be ready to part ways with some of their most reliable players from this convulse season in order to bring in new talent.

A report by Spanish newspaper As states that the Blaugrana club will make an effort to try and sign Lionel Messi once again this summer, but he would not be the only player to make his way to Camp Nou. The Argentine ace may also be followed by Manchester City's Ilkay Gündogan, who will also see the end of his contract with the Cityzens and would join the La Liga leaders on a free transfer.

However, in order to sign players, Els Culers will part ways with a couple of footballers to let these new players join. The first could be either Gavi or Ansu Fati, while the other one will most likely be Franck Kessie.

The Ivory Coast player, who joined the Blaugrana club last summer on a free move, could leave the Spanish side for one more run in Serie A while also leaving some financial benefits for the club. Added to that, his wage could be used to pay a portion of Messi or Gündogan's salaries.

Kessie has been key for Xavi Hernández in some relevant moments of the season, and while the coach is reportedly keen on keeping him around, the team's issues with Financial Fair Play and La Liga's regulations are the main reasons behind this decision.
