The 'Little Pea' revealed conversations with current Mexico boss Diego Cocca which included a discussion about his future with the team.

After missing out on the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Mexico fans believed that Javier "Chicharito" Hernández would never have a shot at playing another World Cup for El Tri. Nevertheless, the footballer has squashed those thoughts and admitted that he would love to be involved with the team once more, and if it leads to playing for Mexico in the competition set to be played in 2026, so be it.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the LA Galaxy's game this weekend, El Tri's all-time top scorer admitted that he's had conversations with coach Diego Cocca to join the team once more, following the incidents that led to his exclusion from the quadrennial tournament by former coach Gerardo Martino.

"Cocca told me that if I can keep up my good form, the doors to play for Mexico will always be open. I appreciate the gesture because no coach is forced to tell you why he will call you up or not, and it's something you have to thank," the striker stated.

The LA Galaxy footballer added that playing for Mexico in another World Cup would be like a dream, while also making a vow to leave everything on the pitch to see that dream becoming a reality.

"I have always dreamed big. If you're Mexican and you have the chance to represent your country, make it to the World Cup and be a part of it, of course I want to do it. I always have high hopes in everything I do, and playing for my country in one more World Cup is one of those things I'd love to do," Hernández added.

Before his intervention came to an end, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker admitted that his experience could come in handy to the team regardless of his age if he ends up making the cut to play in another World Cup for El Tri.

"I know what I can contribute to the team on and off the pitch, because my heart and soul will always fight for the team's best interest," the player concluded.

Chicharito has been part of Mexico's senior team since 2010. He played three World Cups with El Tri between 2010 and 2018, managing to score in each one of them. The striker was excluded from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar due to an alleged disciplinary problem, which was never clarified by the striker or by former El tri boss, Gerardo Martino.
