Inter vs Juventus: Another tense battle on the cards in Coppa Italia

After a tense first leg, both Inter and Juventus will have it all to play for as they lock horns in the second leg of their Coppa Italia tie.

With the first leg having finished as a one-all draw, both Inter and Juventus will be equally charged as the two sides prepare to engage in another battle on Wednesday evening. The first semi-finals tie was a rather ill-tempered match, resulting in several players being sent off in the latter stages of the match.

It's not surprising, as any game featuring Inter and Juventus - commonly known as the Derby d'Italia (Derby of Italy) - is always primed to be a really tense affair. The Nerazzurri are the current reigning champions in this contest, having won their eighth title in 2022 and could pull level on Roma with nine titles should they win at the Stadio Olimpico on May 24th.

Meanwhile, Juventus have won it 14 times - more than any other side - and are hoping to lift the trophy for the first time since 2021. Given that both teams are well out of the running for the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia represents a realistic chance at some silverware for both Simone Inzaghi and Massimiliano Allegri. 'Both Inter and Juventus have also secured spots in the semi-finals of the Champions and Europa League respectively after seeing off Portuguese opposition (Benfica and Sporting CP).

The winner of Wednesday's game will take on the winner of the other semi-finals tie. At the moment, minnows Cremonese have a shock 2-0 advantage over Fiorentina, meaning that the newly promoted side are just 90 minutes away from what would be a very impressive appearance in the Coppa Italia finals next month.

Will it be Inter to feature in the final and thus have a chance to defend their Coppa Italia crown? Or will Juventus, who have had their ups and downs this season, secure yet another finals appearance? We will certainly know after the fourth Derby d'Italia of this season is concluded on Wednesday.

Inter: The Nerazzurri have been given a major boost with Romelu Lukaku's controversial suspension being overturned, meaning that the Belgian international will be available for this game. However, Samir Handanovic will have to sit this game out after his red card in the first leg, while Milan Skriniar misses out due to injury and Henrikh Mkhitaryn's participation is in doubt.

Juventus: Wojciech Szczesny again will be replaced by Mattia Perin as the Polish international continues to recover following a heart issue. Juan Cuadrado is banned for this game after receiving a red card during the reverse fixture.
