The Clarets are back in the top tier just one year after their humiliating relegation thanks to winning the Championship with plenty of games to spare.

They're back!

Just one season after finishing in 18th spot and suffering a humiliating relegation to the Championship, Burnley will be playing in the Premier League next season.

The Clarets have had a brilliant campaign in English football's second tier and first secured promotion back in April with seven matches to go following their 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough. Along the way, Vincent Kompany's men won ten games on the trot between November 13, 2022 and February 11, 2023, before seeing that fantastic run ended during a one-all draw against Watford on February 14th.

Indeed, Burnley set several records this season, including their aforementioned ten match winning streak, and now, thanks to their 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on April 25th, the Clarets are also the winners of the 2022/23 Championship season.

With their top flight status secured, Burnley can pretty much coast for the rest of the season. Of concern, however, for the Clarets, will be to hang onto many of their key personnel, including their current manager. Thanks to his success with Burnley, Kompany has been mooted as a possible candidate for some jobs at England's biggest clubs, including Tottenham.
