The Red Devils are desperate to sign a new striker, with the English ace being at the top of their wishlist at the moment.

Manchester United fans have grown increasingly desperate to see the team signing a striker, and apparently, their search will carry on if the latest reports turn out to be true.

An article by the Daily Star states that the club have made a final decision on who they should sign to fill the No. 9 spot for next season, and while most sources claimed that Harry Kane was the chosen one for the job, this report revealed that Kane's future will not be linked to the most-winning team in Premier League history.

The report states that Manchester United will not go after the 29-year-old player since they know how hard it could be to convince Spurs' chairman Daniel Levy, who is known for his harsh stance when it comes to parting ways with the club's most valuable assets.

The report by the English media outlet suggests that Manchester United are not willing to force a transfer, which would lead them to pursuit other transfer targets, such as Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

The Daily Star adds that, even if Manchester United were willing to offer over $100M for Kane's services, Daniel Levy's style of negotiation would only make things more complicated for the club. In fact, the English tabloid adds that Levy would even be keen on letting Kane run out of a contract instead of taking Manchester United's money.

It is believed that the 29-year-old Kane could be talked into adding one more year to his deal if the club were capable of winning a title in the next 12 months. Nevertheless, the player is aware that this could be his final chance to put pen to paper to a big money move, and becoming a free agent in the summer of 2024 could be his way to fulfill that intention.
