Outgoing Serie A champions AC Milan will travel to the Olimpico to take on AS Roma in a crucial clash on Saturday.

On Saturday evening, Serie A rivals Roma and AC Milan will go head to head at Stadio Olimpico. Both teams currently sit level on points and goal difference in the league table, making this match a crucial one for them in their push for Champions League qualification next season.

In the previous game week, Roma suffered a setback in their meeting against Atalanta, suffering a disappointing 3-1 defeat at the Gewiss Stadium. Indeed, the form of the Giallarossi has been mixed, as prior to the defeat in their last game, they had picked up with back-to-back wins against Udinese and Feyenoord - with the latter securing their place in the Europa League semifinal.

Against Milan, they will be looking to bounce back in front of their home crowd, where they have an impressive defensive record having kept seven clean sheets in their last eight league matches. However, they have struggled at times to break down opposing defences, particularly in the absence of some key attacking players due to injury, and the Rossoneri will most certainly present one such test.

Stefano Pioli's men have been in good form recently, as they remain unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions. Their exploits have also earned them a place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals where they will take on rivals Inter Milan.

In the domestic league, the tale has been subtly different. The defending champions have struggled away from home this season, losing four of their last seven away matches in Serie A. However, the fact that have only lost once in their last six league matches gives room for optimism. Defensively, they also been solid, keeping clean sheets in three of their last four league matches.

Team news: AS Roma vs AC Milan

Roma's push for a top-four finish has been affected by injuries to key players.  Rick Karsdorp has been ruled out for the season due to knee surgery while Giorginio Wijnaldum is doubtful for the game because of a muscular problem.

Also, both Chris Smalling and Diego Llorente have also sustained injuries in the past week, which means that Jose Mourinho will have to adjust his defensive lineup. However, Paulo Dybala is optimistic about featuring in the match against AC Milan despite suffering an ankle bruise in the previous game.

In contrast, Milan has only one absentee, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Several players, including captain Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, and Ismael Bennacer, who was rested against Lecce, are expected to return to the team.
