According to one report, the Cityzens made inquiries for this Arsenal defender in January and could reignite their interest this summer.

Manchester City might have thrashed Arsenal 4-1 on Wednesday to take charge of the Premier League title race, but according to one source, the Cityzens are reportedly eyeing a move for one of the Gunners' defenders.

That man is Kieran Tierney, the highly-rated full-back who has fallen down the pecking order this season due to the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Scottish ace, who was one of Arteta's most integral players in seasons gone by, has made 22 Premier League appearances this term but only five were starts.

As a result, while the former Celtic ace hasn't demanded an Emirates Stadium exit, the defender is understandably unhappy with his situation and wants a resolution. Initially, it was reported that Arteta did not want to let the Scottish full-back go. However, according to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are now open to offers for the defender.

The British tabloid adds that Granit Xhaka and Folarin Balogun could also be sold in order to strengthen their squad this summer, with Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo, and Mason Mount being on their wishlist.

With that in mind, Football Transfers claims Manchester City are eyeing a move for Tierney. In fact, the website states that Guardiola's side inquired about Kieran in January when Joao Cancelo was loaned out to Bayern Munich but the Gunners weren't willing to let their only natural left-back go without a replacement.

While the report claims a price tag is yet to be set, other sources state that Arsenal value the player at £30M ($38M). However, letting a player of Tierney's quality join not only a direct rival but an extremely rich one like Manchester City for a bargain would spark anger.

The Cityzens have played Nathan Ake in the left-back role in Cancelo's absence and have thrived. However, the Portuguese ace might not have a future at the Etihad Stadium, meaning Pep is in need of cover for the aforementioned Dutch defender.

City have done business with Arsenal recently, selling them Zinchenko and Jesus, two key members of their title charge, last summer. Will the North London giants return the favor and let Tierney go the other way? This is the question of the hour ahead of what should be an exciting summer transfer window.
