The Spanish giants have beaten Man City, Liverpool, and Man United in the race to land the English sensation and are hoping to wrap up a deal this month.

The race for Jude Bellingham has been won. Despite all the links to Liverpool and Manchester City over the past few months, the highly-rated Englishman, regarded by many as the best young midfielder in world football, is on the brink of signing for Real Madrid.

This bombshell was initially revealed by Marca, the Madrid-based newspaper that is a reliable source for everything Spanish football. The news was later corroborated by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who added that personal terms are all but agreed.

Los Blancos aim to finalize a deal for the Three Lions sensation this month as they wish to avoid any complications further down the road should things drag on. If completed, fans will have Juni Calafat, the club's Chief Scout, to thank as he played a key role in this battle after staging several meetings with the former Birmingham City midfielder.

This will be tremendous news for the Spanish giants as they prepare for the inevitable departures of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, two world-class midfielders who are sadly on the wrong side of 30 and thus in the twilight of their careers.

Bellingham would join Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Federico Valverde to complete a young but outrageously talented midfield pack. However, clubs across Europe will have welcomed this update with frustration.

Manchester City and Liverpool, in particular, were keen on the 19-year-old, and while the Merseyside giants backed out due to the rumored price tag, a move to the Premier League was seen as a likely outcome. Manchester United were also keeping tabs on the superstar after missing out on him in 2020.

It will be interesting to see how much Jude will cost Real Madrid. According to reports, Ancelotti's side put their summer plans on hold in order to make Bellingham the first English player to play at the Bernabeu since David Beckham.

The teenager has gone from strength to strength since leaving Birmingham City for the Bundesliga. Not only did the Three Lions ace show his talent at Dortmund but he also exhibited his leadership skills, He even made history late last year after captaining BVB, becoming the youngest player in German top-flight history to wear the armband.
