Two big rivalries will determine the teams that will fight for the crown next week. Keep track of the first matches with this guide.

The last four teams in Liga MX have been determined after an action-packed Quarterfinal stage, which saw teams such as Santos, San Luis, Atlas, and Toluca leaving the tournament. Now, the title will be a matter to be sorted out between two teams from the North side of Mexico and the two most popular teams in the country in two exciting two-legged ties.

Luck had a hand in it for fans to see four games full of passion, with Tigres and Monterrey getting ready to lock horns in one more Clásico Regio. The other tie will see a crucial tie for Liga MX supremacy between Chivas and América, who are the most winning teams in Mexico since football was established as a professional sport back in 1943. Both ties have a bit of playoff history, where some will try to turn things around and others will aim to keep their dominance over their rivals.

Without further ado, let us have a glimpse at the games that will be taking place on Wednesday and Thursday. When the time comes, we will have a look at the return ties. Let us take you through both games in chronological order.

Tigres UANL (4) vs Monterrey (1)

The teams from Nuevo León face each other for the eighth time in a playoff round, with the edge belonging to Monterrey with four aggregate wins over the blue and gold side. Luckily for Tigres, their chances of making that record even have come this week, and considering that they have claimed three ties in a row against Rayados, their options to do it one more time are there.

Speaking of those two-legged matchups, Tigres defeated Monterrey in a semi-final stage for the Clausura 2019 tournament, but the most famous win for the blue and gold came in December 2017, when they defeated Rayados in the title clash at BBVA Stadium, the venue where this matchup will be determined on Sunday. These are two of the most powerful squads in the league, and with all the background betwen these sides, we can anticipate a huge clash between them even if their last games have been below all fans' expectations.

Guadalajara (3) vs América (2)

Las Águilas and Chivas lock horns one more time in the semi-final stage of a Liga MX tournament after a regular season where both earned the same points, but with one key difference: América dominated all goalscoring stats, while Guadalajara suffered in that department. With that in mind, Chivas will appeal to their defensive unit, while América will try to hold on to their offensive prowess and to the fact that they did not lose any away matches this season.

The most recent matchup in a semi-final tie came in the Clausura 2007 tournament, with América claiming the ticket to the final after dominating their bitter rivals. Guadalajara have defeated América twice in the semis out of their past four clashes, although Las Águilas dominate the overall stats in this stage of the competition with 15 wins. Nevertheless, history is made to be broken and this version of one of the most popular teams in Mexico could very well show why they have risen from their ashes under their new coach, former MLS tactician Veljko Paunovic.
