Tigres UANL arrives at their home stadium, El Volcan, with a one-goal lead to take on Chivas in the second leg of the Liga MX Femenil Final on Monday, May 31.

The first leg of the Liga BBVA MX Femenil Clausura was filled with action and drama as expected. The ever-so-explosive Tigres side opened the scoring in the 13th-minute via their experienced forward Stephany Mayor.

The game turned into a stalemate until Chivas’ Anette Vazquez broke through Tigres’ defense and tucked in an equalizer in the 50th minute. The last 30 minutes of play resembled a dramatic telenovela with back-and-forth action at Estadio Akron.

The game's climax arrived at minute 88 when referee Lizzet Garcia pointed at the spot for a Guadalajara penalty. Midfielder Christian Jaramillo stepped up to the penalty spot to kick, but the crossbar denied her from giving Chivas a late lead. Four minutes later, center-back Greta Espinoza scored the game-winning goal at the other end to send UANL to the final game with a one-goal cushion.

The second leg game will air live on TUDN in the USA and Mexico on Monday, May 31, at 8 p.m. ET.

Tigres are looking for their fourth Liga MX Femenil title and become the first to win both the Apertura and Clausura trophies. On the other hand, Chivas Guadalajara will look to win their second Mexican league title.
