The Englishman took his tally this season to 28 goals courtesy of an outrageous goal vs. the Bees, which also earned him a Premier League record.

Another day, another Harry Kane record.

Despite all of Tottenham's struggles this season, one man has shone in a gloomy season and that man is talisman striker Harry Kane, regarded by many as one of the best in the beautiful game.

The Englishman entered Saturday's early clash with Brentford with 27 goals under his belt but wasted no time in adding to his tally. In fact, the Three Lions sensation needed only eight minutes to find the back of the net, taking his record this season in the Premier League to 28 goals.

Not only that, but the 29-year-old scored in stunning fashion, curling in an unstoppable shot into the top-left corner of the goal, leaving David Raya helpless. Kane broke the deadlock courtesy of a free kick, with the Englishman not scoring directly from the set piece but rather through a well-worked shot from a layoff.

And this outrageous effort saw Tottenham's all-time leading scorer break another record. This was the 25th game in this English top-flight season in which Harry has scored, with no other player in the competition's history scoring in as many different matches in a 38-game campaign. Check out his goal in the clips below (videos are geo-restricted).

The early clash with Brentford is Tottenham's final home game of the season, thus making this goal sweeter. Nonetheless, it does not hide the one fact staring every Spurs fan in the face: the North London heavyweights have suffered a dreadful campaign.

Kane and Co. are currently sixth in the table and with only one other game remaining, Tottenham cannot finish any higher than this in the standings. To make things worse, Ryan Mason's side can be leapfrogged by Brighton and – albeit unlikely – Aston Villa.

This means Spurs will be without UEFA Champions League football next season and after sacking Antonio Conte, Daniel Levy and Co. are still on the lookout for a talented head coach to take over the club. This has made the issue of Kane's future complicated as the Englishman is entering the final year of his contract.

The player has shown no desire to extend his current deal but has not handed a transfer request either, thus handing his employers some hope. However, with Manchester United and Chelsea eyeing the Englishman, Spurs will face a battle to keep hold of their record goalscorer.
