Fiorentina will be hoping to end their long wait to win a Coppa Italia when the Viola lock horns with Inter in the 2023 Coppa Italia final on Wednesday. As usual, the final is being staged at the Stadio Olimpico, with the Nerazzurri looking to defend their title from 2022 and make it a ninth Coppa Italia ahead of facing Manchester City in Istanbul next month. The Viola, for their part, will also be involved in European action as they will take on West Ham in Prague on June 7th.
To date, Fiorentina's last win in the Coppa Italia was in 2001, which was their sixth victory in this competition. Vincenzo Italiano's men booked their spot in their first Coppa Italia final since 2014 thanks to a 2-0 aggregate semi-finals win over minnows Cremonese, who surprised most observers by making it to the final four in this year's Coppa Italia.
Meanwhile, Inter, who have already won the Supercoppa Italiana after beating AC Milan 3-0 in the final earlier this season, will look to recover after a 3-1 defeat to Napoli last time out. The Nerazzurri were previously unbeaten in their last eight matches across all competitions before last weekend's loss, and will want to get revenge on Fiorentina for beating them in Serie A earlier this year. The Viola notably ended their 11-game winless streak against the Nerazzurri thanks to a solitary goal back at the start of April, but given Inter's overall strong performance as of late, could find this to be quite the tricky test as they aim to end their long way for a trophy.
Fiorentina: Salvatore Sirigu is out for Fiorentina; otherwise, the Viola have all key players available.
Inter: Milan Skriniar and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are Inter's only absentees for this game.
