Ref Anthony Taylor decided to overlook a clear handball inside Sevilla's box when the first 90 minutes were about to expire.

In times when VAR has been more questioned than ever, the technological aid for the referee once again made headlines for what can be labeled as a questionable call by the Video Assistant Referee.

During the final moments of the game between Sevilla and Roma, the giallorossi were trying to score the second goal of the evening to avoid extra time. That was the precise moment when Nemanja Matic sent a cross to Sevilla's box, which was met by Fernando's arm in what seemed like a clear handball.

Referee Anthony Taylor was asked to go to check the monitor to change his initial decision, and even after having a close look, he decided to stick with his initial call.

Taylor had a busy night before this incident, as he had to check a VAR claim for Roma and decided to change a penalty decision after watching the monitor following an alleged tackle on Lucas Ocampos. Either way, his calls will be harshly questioned by both teams when the game comes to a conclusion.
