The Special One slammed the officials during his post-match press conference but took it a step further by waiting to confront them in the Puskas Arena's car park.

Not only did Jose Mourinho suffer the first defeat in a European final in his career on Wednesday, but the Portuguese boss could also be in hot water with UEFA after aiming a foul-mouthed rant at the referees.

The Special One led Roma to the Puskas Arena in Budapest but lost on penalties to Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League final. Paulo Dybala gave the Italian side a first-half lead but an own goal from Gianluca Mancini meant the game ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time.

The Giallorossi then missed two out of their three spot kicks and thus missed out on the coveted trophy. Speaking after the game, Mourinho praised his players for their application but wasn't pleased with the referees after his side were shown a whopping seven yellow cards.

"Honestly, we are very sad about tonight," Mourinho said after the game. 

"We go back home dead because of an unfair decision. It was like the ref came from Spain, so many yellow cards against us. Then, when he had to book Lamela for a second time, he chose not to book him. Then he goes and hands them an unfair penalty. It was clearly a massive injustice."

However, it did not stop there. The Special One then waited for the officials in the car park before launching a foul-mouthed rant at the referees, which consisted of Premier League officials Anthony Taylor and Michael Oliver.

The 60-year-old tactician was caught on camera hurling insults as the officials boarded their mini bus, with Mourinho yelling "f***ing disgrace" in the direction of Taylor before switching to Italian. Check out the incident in the video below (warning: uncensored expletives can be heard).

UEFA's chief refereeing officer was at hand and intervened to calm the manager down. The Roma boss could face punishment from European football's governing body for his actions depending on the reports from the match officials and delegates.

However, if punished, Jose might not serve it at Roma due to the uncertainty facing his future. The iconic manager has been linked with PSG and with his contract at the Stadio Olimpico ending in a year, he refused to reveal whether he will be staying in the Italian capital beyond this summer.
