The Rossocrociati came back from a two-goal deficit during regulation and eventually beat Les Bleus thanks to Mbappé's spot kick miss.

In what can certainly be categorized as the most surprising results in the UEFA Euro, Switzerland came from behind to beat France and end their hopes to win the competition right aftet winning the FIFA World Cup. Yann Sommer, the man behind their success, denied Kylian Mbappé's penalty and kicked off the celebrations for the Swiss side, who never stopped believing in their chances and claimed a huge victory.

Things seemed to go sideways for Vladimir Petkovic's team after Ricardo Rodriguez's penalty miss which was followed up by Karim Benzema's brace, but a furious comeback led by Haris Seferovic and Mario Gavranovic took the game to a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

There, nine out of the ten shooters scored, and with Mbappé's miss, Switzerland accomplished two records in a matter of seconds.

If that was not enough reason to celebrate, then how about ending a goalscoring drought that had lasted for six decades?

Now, Switzerland will go on to face Spain in the Quarterfinals, and while the notion of watching them repeat tonight's performance, it is safe to say that Petkovic's side will not go down without a fight.
