The current league leaders will want to keep their flawless form when they host Le Paillade this weekend. That, and more, in our detailed broadcast guide.

The 2021-22 Ligue 1 season will continue this weekend with a host of games that will see teams from the top side of the table facing each other with only one exception: PSG. The team led by Mauricio Pochettino will be facing a team from the lower half of the standings, which will force them to continue with their flawless run regardless of their injury absences.

Elsewhere, defending champions Lille will continue with their struggles to recover their form from last season, although facing Strasbourg may not be as easy as initially expected. If that was not enough to keep you interested in this weekend's games, how about watching Lyon and Lorient's game this Saturday?

Without further ado, here are all things you need to consider before this weekend's games in Ligue 1 kick off.

Ligue 1 standings after Matchday 6

The French top-flight had midweek games this past Wednesday, and PSG took advantage of that to extend their lead to seven points after a last-gasp win against Metz thanks to a brace by Achraf Hakimi. Olympique Marseille are second after their draw, while Angers, Lens, and Lorient are level with 12 points after this week's games.

Top games to watch

Lyon vs Lorient - Lyon went back to winning ways during their midweek match, and they will try to build up on that when they face Lorient, the surprising fifth-ranked team in the tournament. Les Merlus have not lost any of their last four games, which should be a good test for the hosts in their quest to return to the top five teams in the league.

PSG vs Montpellier - The French capital giants continue their quest for greatness after a dubious performance. Now, with most of their players ready to perform, it will be interesting to see what kind of team Pochettino fields to face a side they have beaten in five of their last six encounters. With that in mind, the only thing left to figure out is...will Lionel Messi play?

Olympique Marseille vs Lens - L'Om seem to be the only team that could challenge PSG this season, and to keep those chances alive, they will have to prove their worth against Lens this weekend. The red and yellow team is currently ranked fourth in the French top-flight, which can give us a hint on how relevant this game could end up being for each team's hopes this season.
