The Blaugrana wonderkid announced his return from long injury spell with a bang.

After being out for almost a year with injury, Ansu Fati recaptured the hearts of Barcelona fans by scoring on his return. The 18-year-old forward reintroduced himself to the Camp Nou faithful by scoring his side's final goal in Sunday's 3-0 thrashing of Levante.

The return of Fati had been long overdue after the player suffered a torn meniscus on his left knee in a clash with Real Betis back in November 2020. Having inherited Lionel Messi's No.10 shirt following the Argentine's shock exit from Barcelona, many were keen on seeing what the teenager had to offer considering his meteoric rise since his debut. On Sunday, the Spanish international finally received the clearance to feature in the starting lineup, having been involved in training sessions ahead of the encounter.

The afternoon's league clash took off on a good note for Barca who did not have manager Ronald Koeman in the dugout after being show a red card for dissent in Thursday's goalless draw with Cadiz. In the Dutch coach's absence, his compatriot Memphis Depay struck first and early to put the Camp Nou outfit in the driver's seat with a spot-kick. 

After the sixth minute strike, Sergio Dest assisted Luuk De Jong to score Barcelona's second in the 14th minute. Not much ensued from that point on wards till Ansu Fati put the last nail in the coffin of Levante with a goal in the 91st minute. After linking up with his teammates to celebrate the goal, Fati sprinted the lenght of the pitch to his side's bench where he celebrated with the doctor that assisted him from recovery journey.

With the 3-0 victory, Barcelona managed to end a four-game winless run in all competitions. Ronald Koeman's team have been lifted to fifth in La Liga and are now five points behind leaders Real Madrid although they have a game in hand.
