Roma's 6-1 loss to Scandinavian outfit Bodø / Glimt sent shockwaves around Europe, and marked a rather unwanted precedent for highly decorated manager Jose Mourinho.

Things started out so well for Roma this season. Under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho, the Giallorossi won six matches across all competitions to kick off the campaign, and that included in the newly former UEFA Europa Conference League.

However, on September 19th, the Lupi suffered a surprise setback as they were beaten 3-2 by a highly unfavored Hellas Verona side. Nonetheless, they appeared to rebound, grinding out a gritty 1-0 win over Udinese, but were then dealt another blow as they were on the wrong end of a 3-2 score-line in the highly anticipated Derby della Captiale clash against Maurizio Sarri's Lazio.

Again, Roma managed to seemingly pick themselves up, recording 3-0 and 2-0 wins over Eastern European outfit Zorya and Empoli in European and domestic competition respectively shortly before the latest international break. But that interruption seems to have really done more harm than good.

Since returning from the international hiatus, Roma have posted back to back losses. And both set unwanted records for the club and their manager. The first, a 1-0 defeat to Juventus, means that the Giallorossi are the first team to lose ten times at Juve's home ground, the Allianz Stadium.

And if that was bad, their Thursday trip to face Scandinavian side Bodø / Glimt was nothing short of a disaster. Prior to that match, Roma had won their first two Europa Conference League games by an aggregate score 8-1, so many expected more of the same kind of stuff as Mourinho's men looked to book their spot in the round of 16.

Well, the Norwegian team had other plans, and pulled off one of the biggest upsets so far in this tournament. By the time the dust had settled, Roma had conceded a whopping six goals, while scoring just one.

The horror show against Bodø / Glimt marks the first time that a team led by Mourinho have conceded six or more goals.

This also is the second time ever that a Norwegian side have scored at least three goals against an Italian team in European competition.

The team who did this for the first time? Yep, none other than the same Bodø / Glimt, who recorded a 3-2 victory over Sampdoria during the 1994/95 UEFA Cup Winner's Cup.

All in all, it's safe to say that Roma and Mourinho will be really keen on getting back to winning ways when they take on league leaders Napoli this weekend.
