Round four of the League Cup is upon us, with Premier League outfits Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal gearing up for interesting showdowns.

Round four of the Carabao Cup is upon us! After an exciting round three in which Chelsea beat Aston Villa on penalties and West Ham overcame Man United at Old Trafford, the League Cup looks to resume action this midweek, with the Blues taking to the field on Tuesday in one of three simultaneous last 16 kick-offs.

As mentioned above, three games have been scheduled for Tuesday, including Arsenal's intriguing home clash with Leeds, with the remaining five fixtures set to be staged on Wednesday to decide the last few quarterfinalists.

Of the eight matches taking place this midweek, five are all-Premier League affairs, including Chelsea's Tuesday fixture as the English top-flight leaders will lock horns with Southampton. Don't be fooled, however, as one of the standout ties of the last 16 will take place on Wednesday. Here's everything you need to know about round four of the Carabao Cup.

Who did the last 16 teams beat to get to round four of the Carabao Cup?

  • Chelsea: beat Aston Vila 4-3 on penalties after 1-1 draw

  • Southampton: overcame Sheffield United 4-2 on penalties after 2-2 stalemate

  • QPR: beat Everton in 8-7 penalty shootout thriller after 2-2 draw

Top games to watch in round four of the Carabao Cup

Chelsea vs Southampton: The Premier League leaders will be in for a rough ride come this round as Tuchel's men are set to battle it out with Southampton for a spot in the quarterfinals. Fortunately for the home side, form favors the London giants as the Blues enter this clash on the back of a 7-0 thrashing of Norwich City, with Mason Mount scoring a hat-trick in that tie. The Saints, on the other hand, were held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley over the weekend and thus sit in 16th spot in the table. However, as Man City came to know, Hassenhuttl's side can frustrate any opposition when at their best, meaning Tuchel cannot afford to lower his guard.

Arsenal vs Leeds: After disappointing back-to-back draws, including a fortunate 2-2 stalemate at home to Crystal Palace in which Lacazette scored at the death to secure a point, Arsenal finally returned to winning ways. A convincing performance against Aston Villa saw the Gunners beat Dean Smiths' side 3-1.  All eyes will be on this fixture as fans wonder whether Mikel Arteta will name a strong squad given the lack of European football, or whether the Spaniard will offer a few promising youngsters their debuts. As for Leeds, they will be hoping to turn things around in this tie. Bielsa's men are winless in their last two outings and have triumphed only once inside 90 minutes in their last eight matches.

West Ham vs Man City: Will West Ham knock out Manchester's two heavyweights in back-to-back Carabao Cup rounds? The Hammers knocked out Man United in the previous stage and will now set their eyes on eliminating the defending Premier League champions. Given that they recently beat Tottenham 1-0, Moyes' men will enter this clash with tons of confidence. Unfortunately, their opponents are Man City, one of Europe's best teams, and given that they've won all but one of their last four league outings, it's fair to say the Cityzens are on a high as well.

Who's in and who's out for round four of the Carabao Cup?

  • Arsenal: Granit Xhaka and Kieran Tierney (out); Alexandre Lacazette (doubtful)

  • Man City: Ferran Torres and Liam Delap

  • West Ham: Alex Kral (out); Vladimir Coufal (doubtful)

  • Tottenham: Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon (both doubtful)

  • Liverpool: Thiago Alcantara, Harvey Elliott, Naby Keita, and James Milner

  • Leicester: Marc Albrighton, Wilfred Ndidi, Wesley Fofana, James Justin, and Nampalys Mendy (all out); Jamie Vardy (doubtful)
