Two old foes will come up against each other as they aim to add to their respective tallies in an early title race.

The story so far

AS Roma will welcome AC Milan to Stadio Olimpico on Sunday with both clubs looking for favorable results as they continue their charge to compete for the league title this season. The host have enjoyed a remarkable spell under new boss Jose Mourinho so far and are currently seated in fourth position after managing 19 pointts from 10 appearances so far. At the moment, they are nine points behind league-leaders Napoli and will approach Sunday's fixture with the same number of points separating them and the Rossoneri.

AS Roma approach the game unbeaten in their last two Serie A outings. After drawing with Napoli at home, the Giallorossi followed up with a 2-1 win over Cagiliari. Prior to that, they had been on the receiving end of a 6-1 hammering in the Europa Conference League against Bodo/Glimt and had been stung by a lone goal in the clash with Juventus.

For AC Milan, fans will demand more of the same performance that has seen them tie with Napoli at the top of the Serie A table. The Rossoneri have accumulated 28 points from the 10 league games they have played thus far, with the draw with Juventus being the only blip in their journey. They approach the encounter with AS Roma on the back of a six-game winning run and rank as alongside Napoli as the only two teams to remain in the competition so far.

A win at Roma should propel Stefano Pioli's men to sit at the top of the pile should Napoli fail to snatch all three points in their encounter with Salernitana.
