Barcelona aren't the only team heading into Wednesday's round of fixtures needing a win in order to decide their Champions League fate.

The final matchday of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League season is currently underway. Tuesday brought a wrap to groups A through D while Wednesday promises another round of eight interesting fixtures.

Barcelona are one of the 16 clubs set to be in action on this date, with the Blaugrana's well-documented do-or-die clash with Bayern Munich being the decisive factor as to whether they will progress to the knockout stage or crash out and drop into the Europa League.

However, all four groups have something left to fight for in the final round, albeit to varying degree, with the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, Villarreal, Atalanta, Sevilla, and Lille all taking to the field on Wednesday. Here are the permutations and scenarios for Group E though H ahead of the sixth and final Matchday of the group stage.

Group E

Not only have Bayern Munich sealed their ticket to the round of 16, but the German giants have also confirmed their spot as the Group E winners, boasting a perfect record ahead of the final group-stage round. The point of discussion is whether it will be Barcelona or Benfica joining them in the knockout stage. The Blaugrana sit in second with seven points while the Eagles are in third with five points, meaning that Depay and Co. will secure progression with a victory on Wednesday regardless of what happens elsewhere. However, given that the Catalan giants are facing the Bavarians at the Allianz Arena on Matchday 6, that will be an extremely difficult hurdle to overcome. Xavi's men need to match the result of Benfica vs Dynamo Kyiv, but if Barcelona slip up, be it a draw or defeat, and the Portuguese side triumph, then the Spanish giants will crash out and drop into the Europa League. Dynamo Kyiv are in last and will finish in fourth regardless of Wednesday's results.

Group F

Man United are already through as the group winners thanks to their three point lead and superior head-to-head record over their closest rivals Villarreal. As for the no.2 spot, that is in dispute between Unai Emery's second-placed side (7 points) and third-placed Atalanta (6 points). The Yellow Submarine will simply need to avoid defeat in order to make the last 16 while Gian Piero Gasperini's men need a victory to join the Red Devils in the knockout stage. A draw will only secure the Italians a third-placed finish. As for Young Boys, the Swiss outfit cannot finish in the top two, but they can secure a third-placed finish if they beat Man United and Atalanta suffer a defeat.

Group G

Group G is an interesting one as all four teams stand a chance of qualifying for the last 16. Lille are top of the group (8 points) and will secure a ticket to the next stage with a draw. However, if the French side wish to win their group, then a victory over Wolfsburg will achieve that – a draw could suffice if second-placed Salzburg stumble in their final game. As for the Austrian side, they will simply need to avoid defeat in order to progress but will need a Matchday 6 win – accompanied by a slip-up from Lille – in order to top Group G. As for Sevilla and Wolfsburg, who sit in third and fourth with six and five points respectively, they require triumphs on Wednesday in order to progress. The Spanish outfit can top the table if they beat Salzburg and Lille lose to Wolfsburg while the Bundesliga outfit can win their group if they emerge victorious in their clash with Lille and the other match ends in a draw.

Group H

All but one condition has been determined in this group. Both Chelsea and Juventus, who currently sit in first and second respectively, have qualified for the round of 16. Zenit, who boast four points, will finish in third and will thus secure a Europa League knockout round playoffs berth. Malmo, meanwhile, are bottom of the table and cannot finish any higher than that. What's yet to be decided is the no.1 spot as both the Blues and the Old Lady are tied on 12 points – the Premier League side boast the advantage due to their superior goal difference in head-to-head matches. The London giants simply need to match Juventus' result if they wish to win the group while the Serie A heavyweights require a victory in their final game and a slip-up from Tuchel's men in order to leapfrog the defending champions.
