Most-watched Soccer Games on U.S. TV: Nov. 30-Dec. 6
Pumas' 1-0 win against Atlas on Sunday, Dec. 5, was not enough to get them through to the Liga MX Apertura Final. A 1-0 away win on Thursday, Dec. 2, gave Atlas the leverage needed to advance on away goals to the final. The broadcast of Sunday's definitive game averaged 835,000 viewers and scored a 0.37 viewership rating, making it the most-watched soccer game on U.S. TV last week.
On the other hand, the second leg of the Liga MX Apertura semifinals between Leon and Tigres UANL was the second most-watched soccer game on American television with 660,000 average viewers and a 0.27 rating. Forward Angel Mena rose to the occasion again, scoring a brace that separated the two teams. The final score was 2-1, and Leon advanced to the Liga MX Apertura Final on away goals (3-3).
Lastly, a Premier League clash between Watford and Manchester City aired on NBC on Saturday, Dec. 4. The broadcast attracted 626,000 average viewers. The game finished 3-1 in favor of Manchester City. Midfielder Bernardo Silva bagged a brace to continue his good form with the Manchester side.
