The former Liverpool teammates will now be reunited as the Brazilian playmaker has secured a loan deal back to England.

Four years after moving to the Camp Nou, Philippe Coutinho will be back in England. The Brazilian playmaker left Liverpool with much fanfare as Barcelona paid a whopping $198 million (£146 million/€160 million) for him in January 2018. Although he was part of the Blaugrana squad that won two La Liga titles, he ended up spending time away on loan with Bayern Munich during the 2019/2020 season, during which he was part of the team that won a Treble at the end of that season.

However, Coutinho's time at Barcelona was quite disappointing. Despite scoring 26 goals in 106 apps across all comps, the player struggled with form and fitness, with an injury in December 2020 ruling him out for the rest of the season.

But now, he's been given a chance to revive his fortunes, as it was announced recently that he's secured a loan deal to Aston Villa. The Villans are currently under the guidance of none other than Steven Gerrard, who notably played alongside Coutinho during his time at Anfield, and will be hoping to help his former teammate rediscover the form that secured him that big money move to Barcelona four years ago.
