The Cameroonian striker reached a special milestone in his team's 1-1 draw on matchday three of the 2021 AFCON.

Hosts Cameroon are seeking to win what would be their fifth AFCON title, and first since 2017 as they hope their home pitch advantage will give them the added edge. And the Indomitable Lions are on their way, after securing their spot in the round of 16 with one game to spare. Although they weren't able to make it three wins in three group stage games as they were held to a surprise one-all draw against Cape Verde, Vincent Aboubakar still had plenty to celebrate as his goal now sees him reach an impressive milestone.

The 29-year-old, who will celebrate his 30th birthday at this winter's AFCON tournament, netted in the 39th minute to give his team a temporary 1-0 lead. In doing so, he brings his total to five, putting him in good stead to finish the competition as lead scorer, and more significant, becomes the second Cameroonian after retired legend Samuel Eto'o to score in three consecutive matches at the African Cup of Nations.

Cameroon and Aboubakar will now know their opponents soon, as they'll be in action on the 24th as they face the best third-placed team from group C, D, or E.
