The Super Eagles are all but destined to win this group, but the same cannot be said about Salah and Co.

The third and final group stage matchday in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is in full swing, with Group D set to commence and wrap up on Wednesday. Only one of the four teams have secured progression to the next round and that is table toppers Nigeria, with the Super Eagles sitting on six points due to their perfect start.

However, despite this, there is a lot left to play for in this group. First of all, the three other teams – Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, and Sudan – are all in the race for the other automatic qualification spot. Currently, the Pharaohs are in the driving seat to join Iheanacho and Co. in the knockout stage.

Furthermore, the top spot is also up for grabs, but it will be quite difficult for Salah and Co. to leapfrog Nigeria. Here's everything you need to know about Wednesday's round of fixtures in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

What are the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Group D games to watch on January 19, 2022?

Egypt vs Sudan: The Pharaohs did not enjoy the best of starts, with Salah and Co. suffering a 1-0 defeat in their opening game. Not only was the result disappointing, but their overall performance was uninspiring. However, Egypt fortunately bounced back, beating Guinea-Bissau 1-0 on matchday 2, with their Liverpool star netting the decisive goal. However, progression to the next round has not yet been secured as they boast a mere two-point advantage over the bottom two teams. Will the tournament's most successful nation seal their spot in the round of 16 today or will Egypt miss out and join Ghana as the next big national team to crash out in the group stage? Tune in to find out.

Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria: The Super Eagles boast a perfect record in the tournament so far, having won both of their two opening fixtures, and are thus the favorites to top Group D. Nigeria kicked things off with a showdown against Egypt, a fellow title challenger, and overcame Salah and Co. courtesy of a narrow 1-0 triumph. After that came a 3-1 victory over Sudan. Guinea-Bissau, on the other hand, boast a single point thanks to their goalless draw with Sudan in their opening fixture. The Djurtus need a victory in the final round in order to stand a chance of progressing, but it's hard to see them beating their continental rivals. Should the Super Eagles rest a few key players, however, then things could be different.
