The French manager has reportedly agreed terms to join Les Parisiens, but he will not do so until the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

PSG's elimination from the Coupe de France has once again sparked rumors about Mauricio Pochettino's departure from the club by the end of the season...or sooner, if they can't get past Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

In fact, reports disclosed by Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard state that the club had already made up their mind regarding the Argentine coach, deciding to give him the boot and name Zinedine Zidane as his replacement. Unfortunately for all parties involved -except Pochettino, maybe- the team ran into an unexpected scenario after the UEFA Champions League draw.

According to Maynard, Zidane had already agreed terms to join PSG during the winter, but the end result of the UCL draw that paired up Real Madrid and PSG caused him to put the deal on hold. The journalist states that Zidane will join Les Parisiens no matter what next summer, but he also revealed that he will only become the first-team coach once they have won the tie against Los Blancos or if they are eliminated from the tournament.

These reports surface following PSG's elimination from the Coupe de France at the hands of OGC Nice, who are also second in Ligue 1 behind Les Parisiens. The game ended in a goalless draw after regulation, and a missed penalty by youngster Xavi Simons shifted the tie in Nice's favor.
