Following his record-matching performance, Manuel Neuer will have to miss the next few games for Bayern after undergoing knee surgery.

This weekend saw Bayern survive some scares to pick up a hard-fought 3-2 win over RB Leipzig to ensure that the Bavarians continue their march towards another league crown.

Manuel Neuer received the match of the day prize, pulling off five saves to keep die Roten Bullen at bay and make sure that Bayern didn't drop any points against a very determined opponent keen on matching wits throughout out. In addition, he now pulls level with Oliver Kahn for the most wins recorded in the Bundesliga by a goalkeeper, with 310.

Neuer's five saves are the most he had to make for Bayern in the Bundesliga all season, but it's come at a high price. The 35-year-old underwent knee surgery after the game and is now set to miss at least a couple of weeks of action. This means he'll definitely miss a few games coming up for Bayern, but given that they'll be facing Bochum (in the Bundesliga) and Red Bull Salzburg (in the Champions League), the Bavarian giants should, theoretically be able to manage just fine.

That being said, Neuer's only missed game this season was at the start of this year, and Bayern lost 2-1 to Borussia Moenchengladbach, so certainly, Bayern and their fans will obviously want their no. 1 back between the posts sooner rather than later.
