Die Werkself will have a new kit sponsor starting from the 2022/23 season.

Earlier this week, we revealed that Barcelona are set to part ways with long-term kit sponsor Rakuten in favor of Spotify starting from the 2022/23 season.

The Blaugrana are not the only major European side to be undergoing some big changes when it comes to their sponsors, however.

Bayer Leverkusen, who previously worked with Adidas and then most recently, German sportswear producer Jako, will also be changing kit sponsors beginning in the 2022/23 campaign.

Die Werkself had initially partnered with Jako in 2016, signing a two year deal worth an estimated $4 million (€3.5 million) per season, before both sides mutually agreed to extend their deal until the end of the current term.

According to reports, Leverkusen have opted not to continue with Jako, and instead have signed a deal with UK-based sportswear manufacturer Castore. This represents the first foray into the German market for the company, and while financial deals haven't been publicly revealed, the deal is expected to go into effect at the start of the 2022/23 season and last for five years.

Leverkusen currently sit in third spot in the Bundesliga and will be eager to continue putting pressure on second-placed Dortmund, who they beat last weekend in a seven goal thriller, when they take on Stuttgart on Saturday.
