French writer and journalist Frederic Hermel did not hold back when discussing Messi's performances with Les Parisiens, among other topics.

It is safe to say that Lionel Messi's performances with PSG have not been as impressive as some may have thought, and while fans may decide to wait for him to show his best form, some experts have stepped up to describe how disappointing they are after the Argentine ace's first months in France.

Speaking in the Spanish radio show Conexión Gallego, writer and journalist Frederic Hermel has stepped up to share his views on Messi's performances at Parc Des Princes, and while we could expect some criticism, we would have never thought to listen to the words uttered by the French journalist.

"He may be able to score a brace against Real Madrid and we will have a different conversation, but right now, Messi has been a massive failure at PSG. His signing was a way to sell jerseys," Hermel stated.

The writer went even further on by stating that his general performances are similar to those he had during his final days at Barcelona.

"People are surprised to see Messi not running, but they had not seen him at Barcelona. His style of play is different than that of a roadrunner-type of player," Hermel added.

When it came to describe PSG and Real Madrid's chances in the upcoming UEFA Champions League clash, Hermel seemed to favor Los Blancos due to their teamwork, something that, according to his views, is missing from Les Parisiens.

"What I see is that PSG does not have a clear idea on how to play, which is totally different from what I see of Real Madrid. PSG right now is the sum of all individual efforts, and I don't see them winning the Champions League. PSG are trying to be a great club, but they can't be considered as competitive as other teams nowadays," Hermel stated.

Before his intervention in the show came to an end, Hermel revealed how close Zinedine Zidane came to coaching PSG in this tie, and how Pochettino's fate at the club could be determined by the end result of this two-legged match.

"Pochettino's credit in Paris is running out. If Zidane had said yes, he'd be coaching the team now. But Zidane stood up and told Qatar's emir no to his proposal to coach PSG," Hermel concluded.

Real Madrid will face PSG at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, and some believe that the outcome of this tie will not only be decisive for Mauricio Pochettino to keep his job, but also for PSG's chances to keep Kylian Mbappé around next season.
