Despite being the reigning Scudetto champions and playing the first leg at home, the Nerazzurri seem to have some concerns ahead of their clash with English giants Liverpool.

On Wednesday, Inter will resume their Champions League campaign with a bang as they welcome Liverpool to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Without a shadow of a doubt, it's going to be a tough test for Simone Inzaghi's side, who come into this contest having picked up just one point from their last two Serie A games against fellow Scudetto contenders Milan and Napoli.

In addition, there will certainly be other concerns for the Nerazzurri heading into this contest.

A big worry is definitely the form of striker Lautaro Martinez, who scored five goals in his first five appearances for Inter during the 2019/20 edition of the Champions League, but has now only scored one goal in his last 12 starts in this competition. Indeed, it's been nearly 700 minutes since the Argentinian international was able to find the back of the net in this competition - so it's safe to say that Inter fans will hope he can finally end that frustrating drought this evening.

Secondly, Jurgen Klopp is on the cusp of hitting an impressive milestone. The German tactician has clinched 49 wins in this competition, and should the Reds beat Inter on Wednesday evening, he'll become just one of eight men to have won 50 or more games in the Champions League and the first German to do this. The other coaches who have achieved this feat will be certainly well-known to any serious football fan: Sir Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal, and Rafa Benítez.

And finally, Liverpool come into this contest having beaten Inter's cross-town rivals Milan both home and away in the group stage. The Reds will be looking to become the first team since Tottenham to beat both Milan and Inter in one Champions League season, and that, coupled with Klopp's aim to reach 50 wins, will have them fired up.

But it's not all doom and gloom for Inter. Not only have they won their last two home games in this competition, but also veteran striker Edin Dzeko has scored in his last three appearances against Liverpool (including twice for Roma). The Bosnian star is just one of three players to have netted against the Reds in two knockout ties, joining Emmanuel Adebayor as well as Chelsea icon Didier Drogba (who did so during the 2008/09 term).
