Landing the Norwegian talent won't be easy. As a result, the Catalan giants have drawn up target no.2 for the striker role.

It's no secret that Barcelona are heavily interested in Erling Haaland, the Dortmund sensation who is sought after by Europe's entire list of elite teams. However, due to the club's financial issues, this begs the question: what will the Blaugrana do if they miss out on the Norwegian?

Spanish publication Sport seem to have the answer, with the Catalan newspaper revealing that the Camp Nou outfit have a back-up option drawn up just in case. However, this does not mean Joan Laporta will not go all out for Haaland. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

Sport write that the Camp Nou president is obsessed with the former RB Salzburg talent, with other reports claiming that the commander-in-chief has informed his staff that they must do everything in their power to bring Haaland to the club.

Xavi's side are on the lookout for a deadly striker who can spearhead their attack and fill the goalscoring void left by Lionel Messi's unexpected departure. Erling ticks all the boxes, but with Real Madrid, PSG, and a host of Premier League clubs – namely Manchester City – showing great interest in the forward, acquiring his signature will not be a walk in the park.

As a result, Barcelona have a back-up option who they will pursue should they fail in the aforementioned pursuit. That player is none other than Aleksander Isak, the Real Sociedad ace who despite his struggles this term, remains one of the top young attackers in Europe.

This will come as a huge blow to Arsenal, who are heavily interested in the Swedish talent. In fact, the Gunners were keen on signing him in January but opted against a move as La Real demanded his release clause be triggered in full. Whether his La Liga employers will issue the same demands this summer or negotiate a lower price tag is uncertain.

Additionally, Barcelona are keen on signing a center-back who can help mend the club's leaky defense. One man has been mentioned and it is a name that will leave fans excited. That target is Jules Kounde, the highly-rated Frenchman at the heart of Sevilla tremendous defensive record this season, having conceded the fewest goals in the Spanish top-flight so far.
