The Reds made a massive statement of intent in their title aspirations by hitting Leeds for six on Wednesday night.

Liverpool have condemned Leeds United to an undesirable Premier League milestone following Wednesday night's big win at Anfield. The Reds added to their quest to rival Manchester City for the league title by hitting Marcelo Bielsa's side for six, making them suffer two 6+ goal defeats in a single league season for only the second time in their history.

The Reds' rout began in as early as the 15th minute with Mohamed Salah continuing his impressive scoring form by converting a spot-kick. The Egyptian subsequently assisted Joel Matip for his first goal of the season with a brilliant one-two before scoring another penalty goal ahead of the half-time break. A double by Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk's goal in the 93rd minute sealed off the rampageous night for Liverpool.

With the result, the Reds are now back in the title race as only three points currently separate them and leaders Manchester City. They are also 10 points above third-placed Chelsea whom they will face in Sunday's EFL Cup final at Wembley. The Blues have a league game in hand and will look to cut down the deficit to seven by winning the outstanding encounter.
